These are places to visit in Istanbul, but not where all the tourists go. All the charm without the swarm.

• Taksim AKM in İstanbul, Turkey

  This has recently been opened again. There a lot of wonderful concerts and operas playing here. Beautiful building also!

• Turkish-German Bookstore & Cafe in İstanbul, Turkey

  Fun but sometimes crowded cafe. Their desserts are amazing, and there a lot of books to look at while you sip your coffee!
