Where to Go for Afternoon Tea in NYC
Jasmine Caceres
I grew up in New York with an obsession for Eloise at the Plaza as a child and it’s safe to say that those two traits have played a factor in my love for Afternoon Tea experiences.

If you enjoyed Eloise at the Plaza then Afternoon Tea at the Palm Court is a must-do at least once. Walking into the Plaza Hotel is a a vibe on it’s own and the tea sandwiches are delicious.

Angelina Paris is a must-do and Angelina NYC is a must-do once you come home from Paris with a craving to return. Breakfast here is delectable but you can’t go wrong with tea and and an array of their delicious pastries. Don’t leave without trying the Mont-Blanc!

Alice’s Tea Cup has two locations in the city plus one take-out location and is a must-do for enjoyers of tea and/or Alice in Wonderland. Alice’s Tea Cup offers a quirky but charming atmosphere - and offers brunch as well as Afternoon Tea. Where else can you get Scones Benedict for breakfast?

Stepping into Lady Mendl’s feels like walking into the parlor of a home in the English countryside, making Afternoon Tea here feel that much more authentic.

A visit to the Russian Tea Room for their Afternoon Tea experience is worth it even if only to enjoy the exquisite, Russian-style decor.

Ladurée in New York, United States

While Ladurée only occasionally offers “Afternoon Tea” events, it’s the perfect place to create your own à la carte tea. Order a pot of your favorite tea, and a few pastries (my votes go to the Milk Chocolate Éclair and Almond Raspberry Financier) and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of this French café.

Prince Tea House has several locations throughout Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. Prince Tea House imports their teas directly from France but their desserts, especially their crepe cake offerings have caught the attention of everyone on social media. But it’s worth joining the waitlist now to get in!
