      In Vietnam you can find some of the most picturesque rice terraces in the world. Surrounded by bright green and yellow mountains, come here to learn about rice farming and the deep history it holds in Vietnam; and of course for the colorful views!

      I have wanted to visit Petra from the first time I watched Indiana Jones (who didn't). Compared to the colorful streets of Havana, the temple at Petra might not seem like a colorful destination. But the bright pink sandstone temple rising out of the white sand desert with a clear blue sky in the background is not to be missed.

      One of the most recognizable colorful travel destinations around the world is the Holland Tulip festival. Each spring almost 5,000 acres of land come alive with the vibrant tulips. I can't imagine planting all those bulbs! I would love to take the time to bike around this area and take in all of the beautiful flowers.

      A relatively new destination for US travelers, Havana Cuba is rich in color and history! A trip here will feel like you are stepping back in time, with vibrantly colored buildings, 50's classic cars, and bright sand beaches with crystal blue waters.

      The two mile trek to the inner shrine of the Shinto Fox spirits is lined with bright red gates or "toriis" that are engraved with the names of people who donated them. I've been told that this is a beautiful place to visit, but it is best to arrive early because it gets very crowded. The bright red gates leading up to a beautiful forest shrine make a colorful destination indeed!

      When people think of Santorini Greece, they normally think of white buildings with blue roofs. While that may not seem like the most colorful travel option, I promise you will change your tune after watching the colors of the sunset over the volcanic island cast onto these blue and white buildings. You can also explore the red, white, and black beaches on the southern end of the island. Although they are not beaches in the traditional sense, they were formed from the volcanic rock of the island.
