Best Craft Breweries in Upstate NY

The New York State Craft Beer industry has exploded in the past 10 years. There are so many great small NY breweries throughout the state that it would take months to visit them all. These are some of the NY craft breweries in the upstate/capital district that on my go to list.

  The Catskills are a great place to visit for some hiking and camping, but also for the delicious craft beers. Catskill Brewery has a small taproom where you can order your drinks and head outside to the picnic tables or sit at the small bar and watch the brewers do their job, since their bar is in their large barrel room!

  Ommegang Brewery is located in Cooperstown, NY where you'll also find the Baseball Hall of Fame. They've got a great assortment of beers and different flavors that you won't see anywhere else. They even have some Game of Thrones themed brews on limited release!

• Bolton Landing Brewing Company in New York, United States

  Located on the shores of Lake George, Bolton Landing Brewery is a small family owned brewery that opened in 2017. They've got just a 7 barrel brewhouse that you can see from the taproom where all their beers are made. Take a break from boating and waterskiing and grab a beer and relax on the patio.

  Another great option in Saratoga, Walt & Whitman Brewing brought new life to the home of the old Saratogian Newspaper building. The building facade remains the same as it did in the early 1900's but the brewery and cafe inside are a great update.

  Adirondack Brewery has been around since the early 80's and has been a part of the Lake George landscape for quite a while. All of their beers are crafted right on site in LG!

  Druther's is a great place to grab a beer and a bite to eat after exploring Saratoga Springs and a day at the races. They've got a great outdoor area as well for those beautiful days.

  I'll admit, there is not a lot to see in Argyle NY, but this small NY craft brewery is certainly worth a visit. Make it a stop in on your way up to Lake George!
