Here, at Castro Castle, we honor the legacy of Dennis Peron and his loyal community of human rights activists. Their tireless efforts paved the way for the legalization of medical marijuana in California and beyond, ensuring access to medicine for those patients in need.
For Dennis, Jonathan West was the love of his life. Jonathan passed away a young of HIV/AIDS. Dennis saw first hand how cannabis helped ease the suffering. The Castro Castle was raided in the early 1990’s and Jonathan, sick and frail, was beaten by police and called a faggot repeatedly. He dedicated his life’s work to Jonathan West.
Castro Castle, where we revisit the late 1970s and the passage of Prop W—a landmark moment in the fight for cannabis legalization. Inspired by the memory of Jonathan West, Dennis Peron dedicated his life to the cause, leading to the historic passage of Prop 215 in 1996.

Collect three pioneer badges and win…</p><p>…a 2024 SF Hash Week Patch, limited edition, while supplies last</p><p>If you complete the challenge, your commemorative SF Hash Week 2024 Patch must be picked up inside the Moe Greens cannabis lounge by 8pm on 7/30/24.</p>
